 Baby Gift Registry Q & A

If you're swaying towards a Baby Gift Registry but need a little more info, you've come to the right place.

To assist you further, we're complied a list of the most common Baby Gift Registry questions and answers.

When should I register for my gift registry?

Most expecting mums cant wait to start their registry and usually do so as soon as they find out their baby's gender or reach the 12 week mark of pregnancy.

For those hosting other events they usually aim to have the gift registry complete a few weeks prior to sending out invitations.

However there's no hard rule and fast rule, and it’s entirely up to you.

As with all events, it’s generally better to get started earlier rather than later, also factoring in postage times.

Should I have more than one registry?

Some mums choose to make more than one registry. For example, perhaps you would like special keepsakes from a gift boutique, a few bigger ticket items from a large baby retailer, and some everyday essentials such as nappies from Target.  This is totally acceptable.

The same goes for other events and celebrations.

What should I include in my gift registry?

This is the million-dollar question. But again, there’s no hard and fast rule.

You may wish for all essential everyday items, or you might prefer special gifts that one wouldn’t consider necessary but rather indulgences.

Start by writing a list of what you need, want, and already have, then you can build on that list and decide what to include on the registry.

How do my guests access my gift registry?

Technology makes spreading the word about where you're registered easy.

Most registries will give you a link that you can share with others, or a password to log in via their online store. This can be included on your invitation.

What happens to registry items that no one buys?

You have full access to your registry so you can see which items remain.  You may choose to purchase these items yourself, or simply remove them from the list.  What you decide to do is entirely up to you.
